I was solicited by a company last year and responded, got added to their database and now a very healthy portion of my business comes from that company. Don't be too hasty to dismiss new companies. It's worth it to give them a chance to prove themselves to be valuable or not.

Annoying, yes. Illegal? Not so much. Unfortunately, aside from spam-filtering technology there isn't much we can do except block each sender (which I do take the time to do).

The CAN-SPAM Act is an interesting read.

Also interesting is the fact that at least here in MI, you can purchase a mailing list of the entire notary public data-base directly from the SOS.

This is a red flag for me whenever I receive an email solicitation to sign up for an agency. First, they are unlawfully spamming, second they're from across the U.S. wanting to take notary jobs way from the locals. Not a good thing.

Good agencies don't use the email spam method.

Team Notary Services

Never heard of them, their website is pathetic, they have no Google rating on their site, they promise notaries will be there to notarize any document at any time. I certainly won't be one of them.
