kids grow up faster these days, but they are still kids. I guess the notary that called this little girl " appeared to be possessed by a demonic entity" probably has no children and has no clue what it means to raise one.
Kids are kids and you can't judge them or attribute all kinds of illness just because a child behaved in one way or another....To me, this girl is actually an intelligent child- she was concerned why a strange man is doing in her house. Isn't that normal? When it comes to mother-daughter issues- this is their own private thing.

in my child rearing school, it goes like this: I dont care how crazy you are, you are gonna learn to behave just the same and at least act like you got some sense.

This story, and the suggestion of "demonic possession" strike me at my core. Having seen this story repeated elsewhere where even greater numbers will read it, I feel I owe a comment.

What you describe is classic, textbook affect with mental illness - specifically what is now called anti-social psychosis. To be a parent of a child with this illness is its own hell, and when forced into situations involving people who 'don't know', trying to simply pacify the child and attempt to ward off a serious episode sometimes is the easiest way through. I wouldn't assume any parent's 'public' behavior is an illustration of their normal day-to-day.

The lack of emotional engagement (and the 'look' that presents) is often-enough wrongly interpreted by casual observers as being "evil". It's in our human nature to be aware of differences in others, and I'll give you that this particular 'difference' can appear chilling.

Not every child you see out in the world acting out-of-control is ill, but neither are they all "possessed" or evil; just as every mother or father 'failing' to manage the situation (the way we think we might ourselves)giving you an illustration of how they always behave. Sometimes, they're just trying to survive another exhausting and near-impossible day.

I owe this comment to all those who struggle through being this child, having this child, or caring for those that are or do.

"I think the little girl appeared to be possessed by a demonic entity."

No demonic possession here - just a kid spoiled beyond recognition. Someone needs to take charge in that house and let her know SHE'S not the one in charge.

I've been to many homes but this one takes the cake. What I witnessed last night was terrifying like something out of a horror movie. I see a lot of kids in this kind of work, many families.

Yesterday I arrived early at my destination and because it was so cold outside, the mother let me in 30 minutes early if I could wait for her to finish up with something. I sat at the dining table in another room going through the paperwork and a little 3-4 year old Chinese girl came up to me with a very serious look on her face. She asked me "what are you doing here?" with great intelligence and maturity. I thought it odd and laughed, but the child didn't react to my emotions retaining her demeanor. As I continued to laugh, she walked out of the room looking back at me.

After the mother came back to the table the little girl came in to try and force her mother to leave. With great maturity the little girl began forcefully hitting her mother demanding she leave the table. The mother was so sweet trying to bribe the little girl to leave her alone but the kid continued to demand, as if her mother was her prisoner, for her to obey her.

I think the little girl appeared to be possessed by a demonic entity. The look on her face was like something out of the exorcist, inhuman and unloving.

I've never seen a kid behave like this in my life.

Sincerely yours,

Notary's Life
