I conducted a signing for VIP CLOSE May/2010 who was contracted by Kliman Law Offices. Like so many others, I never got paid. Repeated phone calls, late notices, etc., all unacknowledged. The contacts I had at Kliman Law Office was Chris Doyle and Jill Lawson. They never answer the phone. I gave up for a while an then saw comments on 123Notary.com and decided to share my experience. After gigving up, for a time, I decided to call again. I called 12/29/2010 and spoke with Kelly @ Kliman Law, who confirmed that VIP CLOSE went out of business. I was given the name of the Office Manager for Kliman Law Office, John Sambucci, jsambucci@klimanlaw.com. I will try once more. I don't know what will become of this attempt or if Kliman Law will accept any responsibility. Although VIP CLOSE went under, I believe the problem lies with Kliman Law.

I definitely think it's time for beloved1213 to write a letter to the state bar where Kliman is located, for failure to live up to contractual obligations.

Isn't it a shame this is still happening even after it's been declared illegal in a majority if not all states? Some states have also extended the provisions to debt relief/resolution companies - upfront fees are not allowed and no fees are to be collected until the modification or debt resolution work has been accomplished.

Unbelievable. That's why I don't get involved in this stuff.

This really sounds like an application for a modification and probably not allowed by your state laws if the company is asking for upfront fees before the work is completed. Check you state laws. Send a collection letter to Mr. Gross and the law firm he says he works for. You need to start a trail of collection efforts so you can file a small claims suit.

I SPOKE TO JAY GROSS ON FRIDAY, 11-19-10 INQUIRING ABOUT PAYMENT FOR THE LOAN MODIFICATION SIGNING ON 10-14-10, AND WAS TOLD TO FAX MY INVOICE TO HIM AGAIN, AND THE CHECK WOULD BE IN THE MAIL BY MONDAY, 11-22-10! AS OF TODAY, I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE CHECK, AND HE HAS STOPPED RESPONDING TO ANY OF MY RECENT CALLS FOR PAYMENT! I HAVE ALSO SENT A DEMAND LETTER ALONG WITH MY INVOICE BY FAX AND EMAIL SEVERAL TIMES!

HAVE ANYONE EVER DONE A LOAN MODIFICATION SIGNING FOR A PERSON NAME JAY GROSS WHO SUPPOSE TO BE AN INTAKE OFFICER / ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE ON BEHALF OF KLIMAN LAW OFFICES AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED PAYMENT?
I CONTACTED KLIMAN LAW OFFICES AND WAS INFORMED THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MY PAYMENT AND DID NOT HAVE ANY CONTROL OVER HOW JAY GROSS PAID THE NOTARIES BECAUSE HE DID NOT WORK FOR THEIR OFFICE! I INVOICED JAY GROSS PER HIS DIRECTIVE AND HAVE NOT BEEN PAID THE $85 FEE HE AGREED TO PAY ME FOR THE SIGNING ON 10-14-10!
