Kim, i am a little concerned about Jeff Sussman's comment that he is not related to 1st National Title, LLC as if you search the company more you will find that it is incorporated by Sussman Management, Inc.

Kim I spoke to Citi who in turn asked their "Vendor Dept" about 1st National. They confirmed 1st National did not go out of business but rather just changed their name. Now maybe they were only going by what Advantage Title told them, but if you'd like to email me directly I'd be happy to give you the Citi names and #'s who told me this.

Kim,

Advantage Title is not affiliated with 1st National Title. When that company went out of business we did tell Citi that we were related in order to try to get the account and we did hire some of their laid off employees. It did not work and we did not get the business.

I would be interested in who told you that we were affiliated. We did not absorb or acquire this entity.

Regards,

Jeff

Thanks but the receptionist is "protecting" Sussman and transferred me to Karen Crooks (that's appropriate isn't it) voicemail. His name is actually Jeff Sussman so I will try to send him an email and see if I can get some attention.

I kept calling Chris Breck but could see that he could do nothing except give me lip service. I called David Sussman, President of Advantage Title (not sure of 1st name) and he said he would "talk to Chris". It all seemed to finally work when I told both of them that I would "settle for $200" for the 2 jobs. Breck's direct # 443.695.2090 - The company's # for Sussman 866.627.7899. Good Luck, let me know if you get anything out of these crooks!

I have continually got the run around. Who did you finally get to authorize your payment?

Ok, I finally got a check, 2 checks to be exact. HOWEVER, after running after my fees, I (regretfully) said I would take a reduced fee. They sent me a reduced fee!!! Amazing isn't it how these creeps take advantage of a notary with no leverage. Funny thing is, I was calling Advantage Title all the while trying to get paid from Advantage Title who said they were "just holding 1st National's docs". The checks that came in had 1st National Title imprinted on them with the old address in Owings Mills and Rebecca Ohlinger's name as Authorized Signature!!!

Thank you for your suggestion Lita. I did call everyone that was involved...one of those crooks just let me hang on hold and never came back! Citibank was not one of the Lenders. I will try again. I'm so disgusted with the whole thing. At one of the signings, I collected a Cashiers check in the amount of $295,000.00 for those shysters the week before they went belly up. That money saved them for a few weeks with that check!

Have you tried reporting them to the lender? When I did the signing for them the lender was Citibank and at the time they told me they had a lot of loan lined up to go thru them. They were very concerned and jumped on it when I told them there were payment issues and said they don't work with companies who don't pay their notaries. They had a vendor dept that they went to and then got back to me. I've been paid but how about calling the lenders and if they have a vendor dept, or not, report them. Just a thought.

Does anyone know of a Class Action Suite against 1st National Title? Or Advantage Title? I would like to join in. I'm so disgusted with this Chris Breck -- he says, "I'm on top of it" and does ZERO...jut stringing us along. I've called, emailed and called and spoke to a Mr. Sussman, Chris' boss...they are all the same....CROOKS. I WOULDN'T WORK FOR ADVANTAGE TITLE. I could go on, but that's the game scam.

Thank you for the heads up. I too am out for 2 signings I did in January for 1st Title. I called and was told the same info as you guys. I drove to Owings Mills and saw their offices were empty. I will contact Chris Beck and see if I can recover my fees. I'll let you know what the outcome is.

Note: for Megan in Pennsylvania -- I tried emailing you, but your email is blocked. I'd like to know what you told them to get your pay! email me, please @ pjrager1@gmail.com Thank you.

Chris gave me the same story...sorry I tried I can send you closings...blah blah. This was after he told me he would get me paid but it may take 30 days. It's been over 2 months since he started "trying"!

Did you try calling the lender? When I first heard there was trouble I had just done a signing a week earlier. Citibank told me that they had a lot of pending loans with them, which may be why I got paid, but I heard there were several other notaries that got paid as well, don't know who the lender was but they all contacted Chris. I received my money in 2 weeks after I talked to him. I can't believe he told you he would put you on the top of their list, as if that makes up for not paying you! What would stop them from not paying you again. I know I will never do with Advantage Title.

I have 3 outstanding checks with 1st National Title for work done in November and December. I faxed invoices to Chris in February and was told it would be 30 days to be paid. I followed up last week and he told me there wasn't anything they could do, 1st National was out of business and he wasn't able to get the people owed paid. He did offer to put me at the top of the list to be called for Advantage Title.

Anyone owed money from 1st National Title I've got some info about getting paid. I contacted the agent for CitiBank who was the lender on the job I did 1/29, he told me 1st National Title did not go out of business, they changed their name to Advantage Title. I was told to contact Christopher Beck at 443-695-2090. I did, he was aware of the non payment issues and asked me to fax over my invoice and other related paperwork. He told me I would be paid, he also acknowledged other non payment issues. His fax and email are: 443 279-2323, cbreck@advantitle.com. FYI the agent at CitiBank told me he has a lot of loans ready where 1st National Title is involved. Hope that helps.

This was my first time doing closings for 1st National Title on November 24, 2009 and November 30, 2009! I still have not received payment on either one! I signed and faxed their Notary Closer Contract which clearly state net terms 30 days and to include your invoice with signed closing docs! After 35-45 days, I started calling and emailing the person in charge of payment (Les) the second week of January! When I did not get a response back, I asked to speak to the owner! They directed me to the co-owner Chuck, who informed will speak to Les about getting me paid! I did a follow up call last week to Chuck and was told 1st National Title have gone out of business and the number (866) 503-8555 was transferred to a company called Title Services! I was also directed by someone to send my invoices to 1st National Title address in Owings Mills, MD, because they did not have anything do to with them! I went a step further and contacted the Lender Citicorp to see if they could help, but still waiting for a response back! This is bad business for a title company and I really did not expect this! Citicorp and 1st National Title have got paid for these completed closings, but I did not! I have heard it is "mortgage fraud" to charge a borrower Notary fees which the Notary does not receive! Beware to all of you who have completed closings with 1st National Title! This will definitely be my last time doing closings with them! As Notaries, let's stick together with this company and get paid for our services rendered!

You need to contact the lender and let them know. We did and they gave contact info including that the title co is still closing loans in their name. The lenders need to know what is happening.
