One good source of free legal advice are the "junior" attorneys working at the local political office. Assembly, congressional, district, etc. The give free legal advice to persons in their district.

Every state has their own rules. Go speak to a real estate attorney about it. Don't rely on forum posters to know your situation and legalities of your state. Good luck.

My best advice to you is get an attorney - we're notaries here and can't give you the depth of advice and guidance you need. If you can't afford an attorney, look in the phone book or google "legal aid" with your location, county or zip. But don't wait - if you wait too long it will be too late and yes, you could lose everything, including your good credit.

I am on a home title in Utah but not on the loan. I was originally on the loan, but the loan was refinanced in my ex-boyfriends name only since I was moving out. Because he owed me equity in the house, I kept my name on the title. I have had the mortgage company threatening to file a judgement against me, send me a 1099 for the amount owed and ruin my credit if I don't quit claim the deed over. Is this legal in Utah. Can they do this to me? Any suggestions? House is going into foreclosure. |
