I WAS going to call today to check on payment. Guess I'll just go with my gut and file a suit in Small Claims Court and see if that gets there attention.
Won't be working for this company again in my lifetime. |

I was happy to receive my payment last week from Financial Solutions for the Spectra Signings job (these companies have the same employees that work for both entities, as well as Echo Loans).
THE CHECK BOUNCED!!!

I've never gotten anywhere with the BBB. I send them Carmen's letter, then really send an email to all of the people the letter says you will, if they don't pay. Then I forward that email to everyone's email address I can find from old emails regarding the closing. That ALWAYS gets someone's attention. If you have questions, email me.

Yes, unfortunately that's what happened to me too. On March 10th there was no info about this company posted anywhere. So that either means they're brand new or they pay as agreed and no one has had any reason to post anything negative about them. Too bad it was the former.

| CopperheadVA, I think I misread the "they promise every Friday check is in the mail". Anyhoo, my confirmation did have the info about checks being cut on the 25th for the prior months job. Glad it didn't work out too, but at the time I researched Spectra, I didn't see any negative comments and I checked several forums. Now of course, I wouldn't work for them since quite a bit of bad press has surfaced. |

Lisa, yes that is what they TELL you... but they never actually follow through with cutting the check! I did my job on March 10th - they assured me in writing and on the phone that payment would be sent on April 25th. Here it is May 21st and no payment. All the other notaries who say they are owed from Jan, Feb, and March are all having the same problem.
Also, their "we pay on the 25th of the following month" policy was not listed on my confirmation. I found out about that around mid-April when I contacted them inquiring about my payment.
mfleites did a job on Jan 30th... got paid May 9th. Holy cow that's over 90 days!
Lots of negative comments about them on the other forum. I've not seen even one positive comment. Lisa you got lucky that your job didn't go - I'm sure you would be waiting for payment just like the rest of us.

mfleites, on Spectra's confirmation it states that checks will be cut on the 25th of each month for the previous month's work, which means if you complete the job on May 1st, the checks will be cut on May 25th for April's jobs. On June 25th, the checks are cut for May's jobs.
Example
Job completed: May 1st
Checks cut: June 25th......55 days out
I've not worked for Spectra....the one job they called me for turned out to be a bust. |

Spectra is a no-no company in my book.

Do not work for this company...asked at 4pm to do a loan Mod. App. at 6pm on the 30th of January! Still no pay...Again, they promise every Friday 'check is in the mail' No check.
Now, no one returns my calls or email.
Beware as they are subsidiaries of Echo Loans!

I did a job for this company in March 2009 and have not been paid. I've been in contact with other notaries that are owed from February and March and cannot get a response from Spectra Signing. If they call you, proceed with caution. They claim they pay on the 25th of the month following the job, but the check never arrives.
