I will not be doing anymore with them. 6 attempts three completed in 5 months. I have been paid for all that I made the trips on....and have asked them to remove me from their call listing.

I'm pretty sure that if client backs out of a 21st Century modification, you/me the notary does not get paid a dime. Our federal government warned consumers about these companies. The Fair Housing Committee in one's community does the same exact thing these companies are charging already hard on their luck borrowers 1500.00 to 2500.00 in fees, for free. Consumers are under the impression that the post dated checks we collect are going towards their mortgages but it is for fees only. If the modification fails to go through, the consumer is out all that money and now 3 months late on their mortgage because the company says to stop making their mortgage payments. I morally can NOT perform these modifications any longer.

OK,
Well I took the assignment for 21st Century, and what I can tell you from first hand experience is that yeah the company's employee are hard to get a hold of, but once I got through the originator of the assignment let me know that the client had stated that the they would like the appointment for April 16 at 2pm. So I accepted the assignment and called the client to confirm the appointment for that date. When the client answered, I stated who I was and let them know that I was the notary that would be assisting them during the signing. They let me know the time that was agreed on originally was not good so we rescheduled it for a later time that day. So yesterday when I went to client's home I was there for about 45 minutes to an hour, it would have been sooner, but the client did not have the docs on hand when I arrived, so they were getting them as I was there. They had a couple of questions but when I called the number on the application, they did not answer, so I called the office number and got the lady that originally gave me the signing and she assisted me and I managed to leave the client's home. I mean this was a long appointment but it's fairly simple, I think I can handle this. Now let's just see their payment cycle works.
I'll keep you all posted.

While I haven't been contacted by 21st Century for a loan mod application, I was called by another company. I had never done one so I wanted to see what it entailed. This company offered $50 and typically I inform companies of what I charge but I accepted the $50 fee as I wanted to see all that was involved. I did receive a comfirmation and they emailed me the paperwork. Once I saw the forms I needed to have client fill out, I thought the $50 fee was too low if they expected me to sit there while the client completed the two long forms he needed to complete. There were copies for the client and two forms - one of which the client was to complete. These forms were for automatic payment authorization - either the client chose to have a credit card billed for the fees or deductions for fees to come out of the their checking account. Didn't appear that I was to collect checks at the table.
I called the client to confirm and a lady answered the phone and I asked to speak to "John Doe" ...she handed the phone to a man and he claimed that no "John Doe" was at the number. I repeated the phone number to the man and he said, "yes, this is (000) 123-4567. I said, "ok, sorry to bother you". I looked and the number and my phone to make sure I dialed correctly, then I called the number again and got a busy signal. I called the SS back and told them of what happened and the scheduler said she would call and find out what was going on. She called back - after 20 mins. - to say this assignment was "on hold" and she would follow-up with me when things were straightened out. Haven't heard back and this happened about two weeks ago.
I bothered me that the company wanted client to sign several blank forms and the company would "fill in the proper fields at a later date". If adults choose to sign blank paperwork, that is their business, not mine. I know I wouldn't do it. Loan mod apps are not for me. I have no desire to sit around while people fill out forms. If the forms are completed when I arrive and they have copies of the documents needed to send back - all ready to go - then I would consider them for a fee of no less than $75. Other than that.....I'll most likely pass on these assignments. JMHO

Ok,well they sure are talked about a lot.
There is good and bad about this company. But I think I am going to have to see for myself, how bad or good they are. I am going to set the appointment for them and see how it goes.
I will keep all of you posted!
Thank you LindaH |

Hi,
I received a call asking to see if I would be interested in servicing a "Loan Modification Application Signing" for a company 21st Century? Does anyone know about them?
Thanks for reading, let me know please.
