The person you tell is the person who hired you.... lender/escrow/title or whoever. It isn't unethical to tell the borrower but you don't want to shoot yourself in the foot. It is the escrow officers job to break that news and if you do it they may not use your services again. If you are "having to" go back more than once you should get paid. I charge for on-site delay when the broker sells his deal over the phone while I sit there. If the borrower turns me away and I go back another day to do the signing, you bet I get paid...
Borrowers get this. They don't work at their jobs for free either. If you are the borrower however, you should raise hell in these situations to get your broker to eat it....if they won't, threaten em with that 3day RTC in your hand and go shop loans. |

OK, I recently became a Notary, I can understand better,BUT, I think that I should have been told upfront of the additional fees, I would have made a decision earlier and saved me a lot of cash. Because of that Notary, I became a Notary so I will service my clients better. Should she have told me upfront??? Thanks for reading. Belle
