There are 2 elements to being an NNA Certified NSA. One is passing the background check, which includes speeding tickets & 4 pages of other naughty things. If a person doesn't pass the background check, certification becomes a moot issue. In other words, you may be able to answer all certification questions perfectly, but if one can't pass the background check, one can't be a NNA Certified NSA.

I will say it's not easy to find this information on NNA's site as it's really just another link to the Signing Professionals Workgroup, who decided the criteria for NSA's. My reason for posting the link is I think people trying to get into this field ought to be told what it takes to pass the bgc before theY spend a ton of money.

I talked to two notaries who claimed their NNA certification was denied to them because they had multiple speeding tickets. What does certification have to do with driving. Background screening might show bad driving as a character risk, but certification should be based purely on testing. If we were in New York, your political views would probably determine your certifications or their suspension.
