Took a siging, confirmed the appointment, informed the client he would need witnesses,no problem. Client says, " Can my mother be my witness?" Not a problem I say, make sure everyone has ID. When I got there, a lady was sitting at the kitchen table writing her name over and over again. Mom. We went to the Dinning Room table. I requested the signers ID and his wife had hers right away. A friend was a witness, and the Lady at the table was the other witness.(Mom)I said hello, may I have your ID. She said what ID? I can sign my name and I know that my address has a 2 in it, I' m ready, I got it now, see, with great pride she showed me the practice sheet. She had recently had a stroke and did not remember very much, and son was serious about her signing. In order to get out of there intact, I showed the son the phrase "competent witness" couldn't leave fast enough. |
