Yes in payments they are tops I agree with you. I do ask and sometimes I would get the extra $5 (big deal) but now they say we have to call for an approval and/or call the next notary on the list. So what good is that? They get a lot of business but they are so cheap! Now I am getting hit with these Loan Mods $35.00!!! to drive 15-30 miles..I won't take them unless I'm headed that way but $35 and then some others will pay $40 or $50 but without support from other notaries..are we just in a loosing battle? It's our gas, insurance and time..to me and I"m sure to you that's very important and worth more than $35 or even $75 on a regular loan closing. Thanks for your input.

The beauty of being an independent contractor is that you are not obligated to accept the offered fee. I ask several questions before stating my fee to First American, and my fee is always higher than that offered. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. But I never have to worry about getting paid from them.

Who took the original post off this website???? First American is a big conglomerate who totally cheats every notary on their data base. The only let us have a measly $75 fee for their orders no far how many miles we have to drive or how many pages we have to print (two copies). The standard fee should be $85-$100. They are not fair. And then they have these stupid webinars in the middle of the afternoon..taking up our time and losing money for us..that some girl reads..like we can't do it after hours (how insulting to us)???? But the worst part is trying to call on a loan closing..2.7 minutes to wait and listen to that guy talk about the FASS number the FASS number..the FASS number..they need a dedicated line for the notary to just call and report. It's hard to understand their closing schedulers and having to listen on every call...this call will be recorded...are you the only notary...they just waste a lot of time and are totally inefficient.
