Agree, Linda. Last purchase (on sale, mind you) of letter was $21.50/case and legal is rarely on sale and is at least $60.something per case.
Jeremy...tell us your source for $6/case paper.

To what purpose are you calculating the cost? If it is to determine what your expenses are, that may be when you use the actual cost of supplies. But if you are pricing to a client, and you want to make a profit, you do as the copy shops do and charge a price per page or group of pages. It's up to the provider of the service (the notary) as to what to charge, because it is a time-consuming, as well as resource consuming, activity to print documents.
BTW, my fees are not based on consumables like paper, toner and fuel. I base my fees on the complexity of the project and time expected to handle that project. Experience has taught me to have a pretty good idea what those costs and fees should be for me to make a living.

One notary on NR said that she estimated her printing costs to be $15 for 300 pages. It is really 5 cents a page?
I buy paper retail for about $6 per 5000 pages... that is 1.2 cents per page. Toner lasts for thousands of pages... not sure what that costs per page. What does it really cost per page to print documents?

If you want to find popular posts, you can use the number of views filter. You can also see whats new with the active topics link. Email us at info@123notary.com if you need any help using the notary forum.
Resources
The notary public resource page is valuable as it has links to all of the free information pages for notaries. Pages linked to the resource page include a page that teaches you everything you need to know to get the most out of your listing. Another page teaches you all the secrets of getting paid.
