You never know what you will encounter.
A month ago I encountered people at a settlement application that where just "not right" I mean they had to be on some type of drug or sedative, legal or not. The man was very slurred speech and mumbled to where I could barely understand him. Luckily, I only had to deal with the woman of the house. The lady was nervous and couldn't stay at the table for long and kept ending up on her recliner to smoke her cigarette. I kept having to remind her that I still had more documents for her to sign. At one point I was busy with the lady and from the corner of my eye, I see the man come to the table and I notice him pull a chair up to the table.. Well whatI thought was a chair was a very large hard plastic car seat in which he sat in and then fell back into the couch behind him and claimed his neck was broke and couldn't move. The lady said to him, "You know I have a bad back and can't help you". I course didn't know what to do. I asked him if he was okay? The lady asks me if I'd ever met crazy people like them. The wife gets up and pushes him over to the side of the floor and he thinks he broke his neck and mumbles more words. Next think you know he's walking around normal.. well spaced out normal.
He also kept calling his cell phone asking if someone had a particular jacket because his "meds" where in it. He then kept asking his wife for his lawyer's number (at 6:30 PM) because he needed to talk to him. I wanted to get our of there! Something about that place wasn't right. Well I got out safe, but the next day.. guess who called. The man of the house. He called my cell and asked me if it was the lawyers office!
Wow, I thought I was going to have to block their number but he never called back.
