I have an in-home office that's quite separate from the living quarters & easily accessible from outside & my home, located on a major highway and have both a sign & website promoting same. Weekends and before/after normal business hours are mostly when I get very little traffic.

GNW is not as easy as it looks as many want notarizations that can't be done. For just tons of reasons--signer not there, but 'they signed it--just stamp it'. They don't have the money to pay for it, want to use a credit card (which I could do with a smartphone app, but frankly don't want to bother as it's a very infrequent thing) or hand me $100 bill and need $90 change. They make an appointment and show up an hour past the appointment time or not at all! The list goes on. While I do GNW, it's not very lucrative in my area...whether on-site or mobile.

If you don't value your time and experience, nobody else will.

99% of our notaries are purely mobile notaries. But, we have a handful of people with offices who take walk ins. One of the issues is that the notary has to be at work that day, and at the office at the time that the client arrives. It is best to make sure clients confirm their visit.

The next problem is that the notary might be swamped with work and not have time for an office visit.

The majority of people with offices on our site are UPS stores. I analyze stats on these companies, and most of them get very little traffic if at the bottom of the search results. But, we had a lady in Dallas with three UPS stores, and one of them is cleaning up when it comes to getting jobs. I guess she is there when the others are sleeping!

Does anyone have any experiences they would like to share regarding office visits?
