Yes, printing is often the worst part of this job. I have invested 2,000 in two used Sharp AR-M257 copier/printers(they are big machines like a copy store has), and lots of $ on IT people. It has been worth it and has eliminated printing problems and prints, copies, scans with great speed.
HOWEVER, I notice that with BANK of AMERICA docs, no matter which signing co or title co they come from, the last page of the package wont print which is a signature page, unless you go and set it to print the last few pages separately, and that many of their pages that are sprinkled thoughout the package are scanned at B of A on some size that is larger than legal size which makes me have to readjust the printer settings in order to print a couple pages here and there and re set it later. It also will not resume printing in the middle of the package unless you reboot and re download and reboot printer too. IT people tell me theres nothing we can do about it because it has to do with how B of A scans in the docs. Also, B of A will never send your docs on time and you will be late EVERY time. Now this may ok if you dont have any other appts that day. I have stopped doing B of A docs all together. Too big of a hassle and noone will take issue with them to correct this problem. I have tried to call also but cant get through to the right people or to anyone at other times.

Make it the norm fellow Notaries that way the companies have to have thier paperwork all prepared, and you wont be dealing with printing anymore like me:) If the companies that call dont like it they can call someone else...I have been headache free for some time and still making good money. We have to set the standards not them, we are the ones responsible for our licenses and it is a privledge for them to hire us.

Yes you are right that we should all make it the STANDARD, but we all should have to serve according to the market trend. "Never is the less" policy suites with the customer and they will not follow you until we are not able to satisfy them, so for this only I do this.

Lately I have had trouble printing documents.

Today I installed Adobe X Pro on a trial basis and all documents printed just fine. I guess that is another expense we will all have to incur but worth it. Seems our overhead just keeps rising.
