Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to take your advice and continue invoicing with a 30 Day time period.

My thought is although it's a good idea..you're going to seriously impede the business you get and the number of companies that want to work with you if you impose that type of requirement - the only ones who agree to pay in advance are those companies who don't pay their notaries - and they agree only because no one else will work with them.

I require payment up front for GNW work - for loan signings payment 30 days net. And yes, companies have gone beyond that - but I start the chase at 30 days unless I've agreed otherwise (some are 45 days and that's okay with me).

What does everyone think about requesting payment upfront?

I just recently started doing loan doc. signings...

My 30 day time frames on my invoices are going to expire late this week, and I'm dreading collecting payments!

To avoid this, I was going to request payment upfront, utilizing paypal and square for iphone, which allows people to pay by credit care in person or over the phone.

What are everyone's thoughts/experiences with this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
