The only major issue is with the title company. Suntrust is doing a lot of refis and to the point that Bostan National is having problems getting the final package done in time for the appt. One was relased 2 hours after the appt.

Information has it the owner of The Closer LLC used to work at NowClosings.

I hope he conducts this company as Now did - they are great to work for and I liked Pablo.

Apprently, Boston National set up The Closer LLC. Boston National has the Title company for Suntrust Mortage. (I think Suntrust "owns" Boston National?). I have done Suntrust/Boston National refis a number of times in the past for NOW closing (one of the good outfits) and others. So instead of doing Suntrust through NOW, it is now through The Closer LLC. My first week with them (3 days now) is 5 Suntrust refis so far, all at branch offices. Which means no barking dogs, little kids, TV's etc. Payment will be direct deposit. They say they will pay faster that way than by check. They are pitching themselfs as a "high end" agency. Dress is shirt and tie (no polo shirts). For 5 closings at local banks (1.2 and 1.7 miles from my house) I'll put a tie on.

Suntrust packages have always been very good/well done. My point is this may not be a "fly by night" outfit being run from someone's kitchen table. Suntrust is one of the major mortgage companies and I don't think they are going anywhere. Their fees are much better than some outfits.

If this goes south I'll post about it.

It's my opinion the industry doesn't need new agencies popping up, that they are too late in the game and trying to catch the wave that is destined to die out before too long. Therefore when I'm approached with huge packages sent to me to fill out I didn't ask for, including numerous LSA test questions, I decline and am encouraging others to do the same. I noted the guy who sent the package came from one of my well established agencies he apparently got my name through.

These new agencies are looking to build their database to impress new clients to get their business. They don't have any work for you which is why they're forcing their data request for your time. If they have no track record anywhere why should you take the risk?

I found this new agency The Closer very arrogant in its approach, just dumping a 27 page document to fill out while saying I'd be "competing with 20,0000 notaries nationwide in our database". They expect me to sign a bunch of ridiculous agreements (no tatoos, etc.) and then take their LSA exam.

I wrote back they're competing with my well established clientele and that if they want me as a notary they'll have to prove themselves with a track record of good comments on 123Notary. The more I thought about it, the less likely I am to be open to these new agencies because they tend to dilute the market and steal business and reduce our fees through low bid contracts to get business.

I don't like their impersonal approach and won't work for people like this who just expect me to hand over pages of information to them and then tell me I'll be competing with 20,000 notaries nationwide. They can shove their package as far as I'm concerned.

Sincerely yours,

Notary's Life
