How interesting! In CA, the ID requirements are simple and there's not much wiggle room (other than credible witness(s)). I've never had anyone present anything unusual besides an "inmate incustody ID card" which is only good in CA IF they are actually a guest of the institution (ON the property).

Just had the oddest pair of IDs in my tenure as a Notary. The lady needed notarization of her application for a duplicate certificate of Title. She wanted to sell her car but lost the original document. She handed me THREE Oklahoma issued ID cards. All had her picture, signature and were unexpired. The Driver license is the routine ID. I was a bit taken aback by the Marijuana and Pistol permits! Either by itself would be fine with me. I just hope the lady does not mix the two.
