The acks and jurats that I created for my business have a special section that allows me to specify the name of the doc that I notarized. I list the title and form number is applicable. Then staple to the back of the pages.

Hi Lydia, the WHOLE document and acknowledgment forms need to be attached to be one unit, otherwise they could get separated, lost, or reattached to non-corresponding documents. The Acknowledgment forms go at the end, and you might document WHICH signature each form is for. Or, if you client likes, you might only use one acknowledgment form but where you see the word "signature(s)", just don't cross out the (s), since the person signed twice or three times.
Calteca,
The National Notary Association (NNA) is offering a live webinar on Dec. 8 regarding signing loan documents. You can go to their website to register for it, and it looks like it is going to be very helpful and informative. I am so glad the notary community is offering helpful tools and ways we can become better at what we do.
Also, if you become a member of NNA, you have access to their hotline, so if you ever have a question, even in the middle of a signing, you can call them and get immediate help. No need to stress during a signing.
Hello, I had my first loan signing and I was confused on a couple documents plus I was really nervous.
There was a document that had the notarial wording....
sworn before me this ____ day of _____, 20__. _____________________ Notary Public My Commission Expires
Do I need to attach an ack or jurat? It seems incomplete since it didn't include 'personally appeared before me'
I'm not going to give you the answer - that's not how you learn. But you should know this...this is basic Notary 101. When you see the words "Subscribed and sworn to..." what type of certificate is required....go back to your manual, look it up and read.
I would suggest you go back and study your handbook again...know your notary laws cold and possibly consult with whomever trained you for loan signings before you decide to take any more of these assignments. I'm trying to be nice, but if you don't know your basic notary laws you should not be handling what is probably THE most financial transaction of a person's life...it's not fair to the borrowers nor is it fair to the hiring party who depends on your expertise to get the job done properly.
Take the time to learn - you'll be a better signing agent for it.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am learning that there is a lot to be aware of and to keep in mind while we are at a signing.
BTW, your other posts in this section and others are extremely helpful. Much appreciated!

I had my first notary job, which was a Subordination Agreement for a couple. The signature page was in the middle of the six page document, and the 2 acknowledgement forms were the additional last two pages. After notarization, sig and seal, is it proper to attach the two completed ack forms to the signature page, with staple, even though it puts the pages of the document out of sequence?
