Hi Linda,
When I said ACTIVE, I meant actively being discussed on the forums. That includes companies with bankruptcy issues that people are talking about. It was a list of companies where some gossip was going on. Most of the 500 or so companies on our list are not getting any gossip at all. I wonder if they are doing anything. Only about 60 companies are being talked about on our forum. Maybe a few others on NR's.

Many of these companies are the very worse companies you can work with.

Some of them are good and I agree with Linda comments that notary loan-signers need to research companies.

Jeremy - your link took me to the blog page and I saw your post from yesterday listing companies and in which you said "I thought that it might be better to write something about signing companies that are doing a lot of work in 2011. This post will be a sort of list of active signing companies"...

Not quite accurate...there are several companies listed that are out of business...they are:

Settlement Corp.
Dynamic Field Solutions
All Service Notary & Signings
Cogent (questionable)
EZ Signings

Also I'll say that the majority of the companies you listed are low pay/slow pay/no pay - or paying with bounceable checks. I can count on one hand the companies listed that are good to work for. Your list is more representative of companies NOT to work for, with some who deserve to be put out of business.

I guess my point is - new people, do your own research on each and every company listed before accepting assignments from them or signing up with them.

Respectfully submitted...and JMO...except about the bad companies - reading forums will back up my statements.

One of our notaries wrote a nice blog entry about how she was just trying to get a reasonable fee, and was accused of gouging! A company owner threatened to report her to the vendor board for price gouging!
