My typical signing is anywhere from 10 to 30 miles one way. Now, since I am in San Francisco and serve entire Bay Area, the driving time really varies……30 miles could end up in 1.5 hours in traffic…..and of course it depends on the time of the day I am travelling!
Now as Michael mentioned, it’s really a blessing when borrowers are nice enough to accommodate signings that result in delays for whatever reasons.
Happy signings to all of us!

A late reply Lee but for me it would be about 10 miles...however timewise, it really depends on the time of day. Anywhere from 15 mins to 1 hour depending.

Our average signings are 28.22 miles from the office location and I allot 45 minutes travel between signings. NOW having said that... I love those closings 3 blocks away BUT I will never forget that closing last month on the 25th when title called at 5:00 and requested a closing 103 miles northeast from us and by the way...docs aren't ready. they were nice enough to tellme they had no idea when they would get HUD approval and could I just "make it my baby and make sure it got closed" Told them yes. They are a great customer. Seriously. One of my favorite locals. Called the borrower and they said come whenever. I told them it would be late... maybe very late. they didn't care. My notary for those parts already had 3 evening appts scheduled, the last at 9 40 miles from the proposed signing and he had to be up and on the road at 5:30 the next morning to drive southwest for two early morning closings. Docs finally were available. At 10. Guess who did the 200+ miles and found out it was all KS backroads. 4 hrs for that one. The borrowers answered their door in their jammies and were happy to get it signed before their lock expired.

Don't have an average available but my signings are anywhere between 20-25 miles (in county) and 40-45 miles (out of county) one way - 30-50 minutes depending on time of day (school time slows me down considerably)...

I'm very rural too - I can stay within my home county and still take 30-40 minutes to get to the appointment.

No, not the fee. How far do you generally travel (average) in miles?
And how long does that take (average)? Mine is 22 miles and 45 minutes--one way figures. Of course, few are actually those figures--that's a year-long average. Reason for these questions is to show that one size does not fit all. And, yes, I'm in a very rural area.
