We have to stand together on our fees! If we do, no one would take a low ball fee. I will not and who can if we really want to survive till tomorrow. Must cover expenses and get a fee worth your while! If they have the nerve to call me for a low ball fee then I ask them what fee do they get? Remember they are only making a call to you so they get a great fee if you take a low ball fee! We must stand together--it works!!javascript:insertsmilie('')

I get quite irritated by that attitude too. For example, I sometimes act as a signing service for my clients when they have work outside my personal service area. I pay the notary the full fee less $25-50 [usually $25] so that I'm able to pay them $125 or more yet it gives me a referral fee that pays me for the hour or so that I invest. Conversely, if "Signing Services" would be less greedy and do the same thing they would have loyal signers in whatever area of the country they had work in. It's crazy! I certainly understand the drive to save money. If escrow officers, mortgage brokers, lenders and others wish to save money and work with professional, skilled Notary Signing Agents, they should eliminate the unnecessary middle-men that drive the cost of a signing up. Anyone agree?

Problem is, most of the signing services bid their jobs at the SAME FEE that we get when we work directly for the title company. Then they turn around and want to pay us $75, $85, or $90 including edocs. Sorry, no can do.

I am getting same low ball from all signings. Do you get it? Signing agencies make a call send docs by e-mail and want to cut the fees to $50-80?? They want to make up their loss profits on our skin!! No way! Unless it is next door, no way Notaries...you will go under and they will be fine! Who did the work? You are just the last on the food chain!

I just got my 3rd-in-a-row outrageously LOW lowball offer for a signing to be done today...each of them offered less than 50% of the true signing fee. Ultimately, with doc printings and "e-signed" documents and the inevitable waiting for documents that take hours to arrive, what EXACTLY gives these so-called signing companies the guts to ask for such outrageous amounts simply because they made a few phone calls and sent a couple of emails? [RANT, RANT, RANT]. I really want to work. But, I want to work as an experienced professional Notary Signing Agent....NOT as a prostitute!
