Hm, that sounds strange… First of all, getting an email from a company asking you to pay $$ upfront sounds like some type of solicitation. And besides, charging money in advance for a service is fishy. I wouldn’t buy this, do some research, or perhaps contact someone directly from that company. I think that we already risk enough when accepting signings by covering the cost of printing, ink, gas, time…. And then wait for weeks/months for the reimbursement, So why add up an additional $4.50?

You can always get a prepaid card (as was suggested to me) and use that instead of your credit card. That's what I'll do if I decide to sign up.
The only thing that bothers me is something someone else brought up. The $4.50 is charged/deducted immediately. If the loan doesn't close for some reason that $4.50 is not refunded. I'd be amenable to following this platform if I have guarantees from my hiring party that the $4.50 will be paid no matter the outcome of the loan.
I know it's only $4.50 but I think of it this way - if that loan reschedules twice, that's $13.50 off the debit card for one loan - IOW $13.50 out of MY pocket, only $4.50 of which is being paid with the final successfully closed loan. Or, if it doesn't close at all, even after the first scheduling, then I've just paid $4.50 for nothing - that can add up after a while. So, I'd want some guarantee from the hiring party that the $4.50 will be paid no matter what.

ValuAmerica is a vendor of settlement service and solutions. They provide document warehousing and storage for their clients. Some clients want to have general access by their own consumers to the files maintained by ValuAmerica. The access fee is charged by ValuAmerica to the user. It's their way of paying for the hardware, software and administration of the files.
Granted, it may be more logical if Equity National paid an incremental fee to ValuAmerica, but that's not the way it is set up. VA charges the user for each download. Equity suggests and supports the end user to include the ValuAmerica service fee in the user's invoiced fee to Equity. It's just the way it is.

I honestly see NO logic in paying $4.50 but add it to the signing fee. Why charge the $4.50 in the first place? I don't get it. |

I got an email from this place the other day asking if I would like to sign up. Apparently they want to have your credit card on file to charge you $4.50 per order but say you can build back the charge into your signing fee. Has anyone worked with them? How much do they pay and do they pay promptly? Almost sounds like some sort of scam but I'm curious. |
