Well, I see not much has been posted regarding this "company." I did a quitclaim and DOT for them on January 29th, and have been unable to get paid. Now my emails are being returned as undeliverable, so this is probably a dead duck. It's the only one this year, so I just feel lucky I guess.

I sign regularly for Consumer Title located in Independence, OH. They pay $105 so I'm sure it's probably the same company. They are easy to work with and pay within ten days. Definitely a keeper.

If they are in Clearwater, Florida, then the above link is their website. Without any info about their track record of payment, I would take a chance on them (provided they met my fee, they pay net 30 and no ridiculous requirements) only because title insurance companies are regulated by the state insurance commissioner and escrow companies are regulated by the commissioner of corporations - therefore, you have two good regulatory agencies with which to report them if they do not pay.
I'd only take that chance with no history on the company and the company being a title or escrow company. I would not take that chance on an SS or if the title/escrow company had a deadbeat track record. SS's are fly-by-night, here today gone tomorrow operations and have no regulatory agency. Regulatory agencies or not, I will not work with companies that have established deadbeat track records. |
