I was hired by a bank, and there are about 5 different documents x 5 signatures each – total of 25 notarized signatures. Ideally, the total fee should be $250 + travel, but since this is a loan signing…, I am not completely sure how to decide on pricing. The time to complete the entire assignment is 3 hours (includes travel to and from the borrowers home) Any thoughts?

Who hired you, TC or SS? Will this loan signing be paid outside of closing where one of the borrowers is responsible to see that you are paid at the table?
A few months back, I did an FHA refi with four borrowers - well three were present and the wife was the attorney-in-fact for the hubby who was out of the country. I was hired by a TC and was paid $150. If this signing is POC, then you could give the borrowers a "deal" for paying cash at the table, particularly when you count the number of signatures notarized (5) per doc needing notarized.
Last Saturday, I did some general notary work where four signers were signing five identifical POAs going to another country. Four signers times five identical docs equals $200. This was a pleasant surprise since the lady who initially called mentioned one POA and three signers, but not five identical docs. At the table, I offered a 50% discount for paying cash - I only charged half. They were only too happy to pay $100 cash.

Please advice, how much would you charge for a loan signing in California with 5 borrowers? Thank you!
