notaryservices, did you get a confirmation for each new trip made? You should always require a new email confirmation for each new appointment. Also, if a signer refuses to sign because the numbers are not right, I inform the borrower that they should request and insist on a copy of the docs emailed to them for their review before a notary arrives so that they can iron out issues and get their questions and concerns answered. I would have definitely asked the borrower during the 2nd appointment confirmation call if they've spoken to the loan officer and reviewed the numbers? If the answer is no, then I would encourage them to work this out before I arrive so that when I arrive, there are no surprises and they are satisfied with the paperwork. Always get a new email confirmation for subsequent appointments so you have written proof of the agreement and their refusal to pay will show breach of contract. JMHO....I am not an attorney....yada, yada, yada....! |

I think I had a problem with them too. I'll check my records, but they do ring an ugly bell with me too.

Same message - I just left out the company name....... CLOSING MASTERS I did a closing for this company and had to make three trips. The first one took almost an hour and a half and the borrower called the loan officer numerous times - the package was messed up and the loan officer finally stopped the closing. The loan officer said he would make sure we were paid full amount for the first trip because the package was not correct and we were there even longer than usual. The second trip was made and the borrower still was not happy with the package, but finally (after another hour and a half) signed and said he would discuss with the loan officer. When I took this second trip signing, I reminded them that I expected full payment for the first trip and was told "no problem". Three days after the second trip, I was contacted a third time because there were some papers that had been left out of the second package. I said I would do this and quoted them a price for the third trip and reminded them of the first two and gave them a TOTAL for all three trips..... again "no problem". When it came time to receive pay - they argued that they would not pay for the first trip..... gave me a bunch of BS and finally hung up on me. You usually get an answering machine when you call, but after numerous tries, I finally got a live person. Both owners got on the phone, were very rude and said they would not pay the total they had agreed upon. I finally gave up and said- just send me what you want, but don't call me again...... I definitely would not waste my time with a company like this again. |
