Hello,
A few weeks ago I posted my availability of my Marketing Resources. I was inundated with several emails with requests for them. Then I realized something. There are a lot of people in need of training in the Practice of a Signing Agent and Basic Marketing skills. I realized that even if I sent the info over, will they benefit from it and know how to put it into use??? In Our industry we are given tests and books, yet no real information to help us suceed. I've been there! Well I came up with a One-on-One "school" concept that will allow me to coach fellow Notaries in becomming more sucessful in what they do. I will teach you the practice of a Signing Agent in person and out in the Field and how to better market your business to get you more signings. I figure if I can do it then others can. Email me today if you are interested in my School or would like specific details. I welcome everyone and I can assure you that it will be affordable and a worthwile investment. apa_gal@yahoo.com |

Ten Suggestions for Getting Along Better with People: 1. Guard your tongue. Say less than you think.
2. Make promises sparingly. Keep them faithfully.
3. Never let an opportunity pass to say a kind word.
4. Be interested in others, their pursuits, work, families.
5. Be cheerful. Don't dwell on minor aches and small disappointments.
6. Keep an open mind. Discuss but don't argue. Disagree without being disagreeable.
7. Discourage gossip. It's destructive.
8. Be careful of others' feelings.
9. Pay no attention to ill-natured remarks about you. Live so that nobody will believe them.
10. Don't be anxious about getting credit. Just do your best and be patient.

When weighing the fault of others, be careful not to put your thumb on the scale. Criticism, like rain, should be gentle enough to nourish one's growth without destroying one's roots.
Mark Twain once said "Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."

The freedom to speak openly about other websites, message boards, companies, products and services really makes this board fantastic. There are a lot of great resources out there (many free) that oldie and newbie LSA's can benefit from. It's wonderful to know that Jeremy encourages the exchange of information here at 123 and I'll be the first in line to tell others.
I've been around a long time and here's what I think is the bottom line about boards that allow Drama (bashing, OT, offensive language, etc); Drama means only one thing to the owner of the site: Drama = hits = membership = sales = money in their pocket.
I feel very sad for those who participate daily in these types of negative atmospheres, getting caught up in all the drama. Some members are on these boards all day long, every day, all hours. These types of boards promote a false sense of community and the membership actually believes the owners really cares about them and their success. They don't! They only care about their profits, laughing all the way to the bank.

Please just let me know if any particular post is unnecessarily abusive in any way. Its okay to express an opinion or complaint so long as its not done in a vindictive way. |

I just quit using another forum because some posters on there were abusive. They attack, insult and degrade other notaries. They have abusive behavior. The monitors there don't seem to care because they don't do anything about it. It even states in their rules that they cannot attack or abuse others but nothing is done to stop it. I don't want to be a part of a foum that allows this kind of behavior. This forum is much better. I believe other notaries are leaving the other forum as well and will come here. Their forum is not as good as it used to be. The bad apples are driving good notaries away. Bad apples spoil the whole barrel. |

While I believe that opinions and thoughts are essential, I personally am against negative postings as they take up too much unnecessary room and if you want to find answers to things, you have to take the time to cull out the junk. Even our emails have ways of removing spam.
Renee and MountainQueen, you both present great points. Adversity can be a very good thing if put to good use.

No matter where you go, in life and on the internet - wherever you find groups of people, you'll find that sort of behavior. The more people, the more variety of behavior. Perhaps the best approach is to completely ignore it, don't feed into it, resist being snagged by it. There's a saying: The best way to change someone else's behavior is to change your OWN. I think if you look at the other boards where negativity is more often demonstrated - you'll see it is responded to a'plenty ... it is provided FOOD, fueled on (and on and on ...)
Everyone has something we can learn from - and some people provide us with the opportunity to practice disengaging from negativity. =) |
