Back in the day I had an exclusive with a builder in TX for their SoCal investment buyers. (Lucked into it fixing a VERY botched job by a prior notary)

$800 - 4 purchases deals with 1 & 2nd each / edocs.

Sounds bad, but only 24 notarized signatures (3 per loan), and ~ 250 pages total for all 8 loans, and escrow docs (single escrow file for all 4 properties). Experienced buyer, just signed page after page, no questions, was out in 1.5 hours. Could have been under an hour if I didn't have to use loose leaf due to CA wording issues.

There were two more closings on this same day.

Those were the days!

(Some deals these days, have that many notarization and pages for a single 1st TD)

$450 - Christmas Eve 3 years ago. Called by title who had received a recommendation from someone. Initially I refused because I had a houseful of company arriving at noon but she sweet talked me into it. I said I had to charge $150 because of the circumstances - she said she had $450 AND the borrowers were going to meet me 10 mins from my house. Check arrived before the end of the year. It made for a happier new year!

ONE THOUSAND BUCKS - a routine edoc refi. Why so high? It was at a local hospital and the patient was "in and out" of procedures, and I would have to do parts as he was available. As it turned out, the signing took 45 minutes and the hospital was half an hour away. I have a xerox copy of the check from the title co. Wanted to frame the actual check but......
The borrower had family bring driver's license and US Passport for ID.
Borrower was totally lucid and not on medication. The only demand from Title was that I TRIPLE check - at the bedside each page for perfection, not a missing initial - no flaws whatsoever were allowed. No big deal, I usually double check but fer $1000 you can be sure it was checked 4 times SLOWLY PAGE BY PAGE. PS: the check arrived 4 days later - Fedex Priority Overnight.
Actually I received the offer from the LO - rate lock to expire at midnight and no chance of a redo at the new rate. I had worked for him a few times at a MUCH lower "routine industry standard" rate. I did NOT believe his offer and thought it a joke by impersonation. A hand signed fax on his letterhead convinced me the work order was authentic. BTW: it was a HUGE amount of money involved
It happened about three years ago and nothing similar since.

600.00. Had to travel to another county with a loan office. I met him at his office; he drove. He said he could always count on me. I have done allot of work with him ranging from 300-600. He was great to work with never mislead the borrowers. Very honest. Boy I miss those days..H even gave me a 700 Christmas bonus one year...

I still haven't figured our what fee schedule to use and the State of Arizona only allows $2.00 for a Notary. The rest would be service fee. I don't even charge on simple 1 time notary as I thought it wasn't worth the paperwork for tax purposes! Please help me to understand better for charging for my services!

I did one on Christmas Eve I charged $250, and also did an in house of over 80 notary seals and charged them $430.00... Which was nice, because there was no overhead at all, it was all profit. I normally charge between $100-$150...

I recently set up an upcoming general notary appointment to notarize 75 acknowledgements for someone on New Year's Day 2010 for $375 (thanks, Joan B. for advising us to advertise that we are available to notarize during holiday periods). And this is with a volume discount I offered this client. Otherwise it would have been $750 if I charged the $10 allowed by CA law.

My highest general notary work fee was $210 for twenty-one jurats on a Sunday morning for a financial planner's client. Close behind that one was $190 for nineteen jurats for an attorney. I also like doing wills/trust packages recommended from attorneys...they are around $180 and up. I love general notary work since it pays on the spot (or within ten days).

The highest fee was $250 to drive 95 miles one way over a mountain pass with four hours notice to meet with a VIP who was taking out a home equity loan on the big house to build a $150,000 barn.

I have signed some at $250 (20) and 2 at ($300). Nice work when you can get it.

I have done over 4,000 signings so the majority of mine have averaged at approx. $125 over the last 7 years.

Forgot to mention: This signing was not edocs. I picked up the docs from the Escrow company (about 2 miles from my home) in the morning before the signing.

I presume you mean for a loan signing.....so far $175....Reverse Mortgage plus extended travel, this was last week. Surprisingly, this was the smallest RM I've ever done....about 90 pages total. But this was working directly with Escrow, referred by a mortgage banker with whom I network at a group breakfast meeting each week.
