I was solicited by NCCI too - read the packet and tossed it around a bit - I'd love to do inspections but I'm so far out in the country my minimum travel to city is 15 miles - 30 minutes one way - I've never returned the executed packet because, in the long run, I don't think these are economically feasible for me - they told me they set the appointment and I'm available or not - no wiggle room as far as scheduling is concerned (like do it when in the area within a 3-4 day window)...

I've never worked for NCCI but they have solicited me many times to complete their packet so they can assign inspections to me. I have not yet filled out the packet. I have done a few inspections for other companies, ranging from $15 to $25, usually for a couple of photos and completing a form. These have to be really close in order to be worth it, and even then it's really borderline as to whether it's worth the time and trouble.
I have one company, PRN (Property Resource Network) that assigned me several inspections, which I completed, but they take so long to pay that it's just not worth it to me any more. The last one I did was Dec 2, 2008. It was *supposed* to be paid on January 15, 2009, however here we are on February 5th and no payment yet. In the past they have assigned inspections to me and I have turned them back, stating that I am unable to accept because they are past due on XX and YY. Then they fall all over themselves getting a check to me, and then I accept the assignment. After I get paid for this one, I don't intend to accept any additional assignments from them. The games aren't worth it.

I had this company calling me for an inspection two days ago, finally, i accepted the assigment they have. It was not far from the house and it paid 30.00. But the catch is not the 30$, you have to do the inspection, they don't tell you how big is the property, they assured me that it was going to be 20 minutes top. It took me 1 hour to finish the inspection, taking pictures, interviewing the person and filling up the forms. Although, I am still not done, I have to scan, login to their website, and post everything. Well this inspections are not 20 minutes they take at least 2.5 of your time. Which in my opinion is not worth the 30 dollar. Our time is valuable to us, and this company are trying to get notaries like us to do this type of inspection. Guys don't fall, I wasted my time yesterday, therefore, since it was my time, I am not sending any docs, or pictures back to the company. They misrepresent the assigment and I really did not like to be lied. Well folks for all of you out there KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN, BECAUSE YOU MAY BE THE NEXT ONLINE TO TAKE AN assignment like this one and get taken advantage off. Oh BTW, the company's name is NCCI. |
