Linda, I believe Paul was responding to Jeremy's comment that reads as follows:
quote:
I hope that everybody gets their free 2009 rescission calendar right away. Also, let us know if you have any comments about the rescission calendar. Remember, there are certain holidays that nobody can remember if they are federal holidays such as Flag day and Martin Luther King day to cite a few good examples. Also, don't forget that the day after Thanksgiving is a business day.

Please check your dates carefully. June 14 (Flag Day) IS NOT a Federal Holiday!
You can see the official list of Federal Holidays on the OPM website: http://www.opm.gov/Operating_Status_Schedules/fedhol/index.asp
The following are the Federal Holidays for 2009:
Thursday, January 1 - New Year’s Day Monday, January 19 - Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. Monday, February 16 - Washington’s Birthday Monday, May 25 - Memorial Day Saturday, July 4* - Independence Day Monday, September 7 - Labor Day Monday, October 12 - Columbus Day Wednesday, November 11 - Veterans Day Thursday, November 26 - Thanksgiving Day Friday, December 25 - Christmas Day * July 4, 2009 (the legal public holiday for Independence Day), falls on a Saturday. For most Federal employees, Friday, July 3, will be treated as a holiday for pay and leave purposes. (See 5 U.S.C. 6103(b).) Friday, July 3, 2009 is not considered a legal public holiday and therefore is counted as a day of rescission.
