Go to you local congressional office. Explain that the amount does not justify hiring an attorney. They are staffed by law students. Ask them to contact the congressional office of the person who owes you the money. Often a call from the office of an elected representative will "bluff" the debtor into thinking "something bad" will happen if I don't act on this. It's worth a try, and has worked for me (but only one time out of three). I usually just fax my invoice (daily) till it's paid - and advantage of having free phone service.

I wish I had some to give. I hear you can call a lawyer and the first call is free. Maybe that would work.

Has anyone ever filed a claim through small claims? Does that work? Is it worth it? I need help. I did a signing for Kensington Title/Kensington National Land Service and they paid the wrong notary. Today I finally got a call saying they have no intent of paying as they have already paid a notary and its not thier fault that it was the wrong one. Well, it certainly wasn't my fault. I need some advice please.
