Did a signing for Great Lake Signing Service Michigan. It was (2) loans. I received detail job instructions. Later, I received (2) loan packages and printed them out. Went over and signed the borrower. I was instructed by Great Lakes to mail docs the next day at 9:00am. Later the next day Great Lakes asked me why I had not faxed certain pages to them. I look at my detail instruction not being in my office. Well she added instruction, more work, same pay and no verbal contact. Look Signing Companies, make sure we acknowledges and agrees receiving additional job tasks and not burying them in the loan docs. giving detail signing instructions and not amending the instructions, is crazy. You're asking for a disaster. This would of added a separate trip to my office to fax and if I knew, I wouid charged for it. Spoke to Great Lakes and said I did see the additional work. She thought I should of done. If I had a clue I would. I was rushed to print the docs out as they were typically late, and at my confirmation no mention of extra work. I don't know why they would let goof. This stealth practice is a bad habit. Naturally, the loan didn't close and was only paid for only one loan. She was very upset and felt her practice. Can't work with that type of company. Most signing companies send separate email instructions attachments to avoid the trap of the Notary missing them and they also mention it when I agreed to take the job. Also, pay low. Lastly, Signing Companies, if we print the documents out typically, 244+, the print fee at Fedexp/Kinkos is $22.00, so a 87.00 loan signing fee, is actually, a ridiculous $65.00. After driving round trip .50/IRS allowance, the net is $55.00. And there are other fees attendent. office rent, utilities, journal, E&O, commission, phone, etc. That probably add another $5.00 of indirect costs. So be reasonable.

I did a signing for them on 10-2-08 and received payment yesterday. Check is dated the 10/19. Work with them again in a heartbeat. Easy package and fully informed borrower.
BTW check is a Solar Image Inc. dba Great Lakes Notary, dba Midwest Abstract & Research Flushing MI check.

I currently am in a battle with them over payment from a closing last Nov. I have sent demand letter, faxes, filed complaint with AG in MI and now ready to file an FBI internet fraud complaint. |

Has anyone worked for them before? They are located in Flushing, MI. Please don't confuse this company with Great Lakes Signing Services. In Michigan, every company seems to be named after a lake. We don't do that in CA. We name our companies after coasts.
