I am going to try to manage the conflict so it doesn't become a situation ever again. In the mean time, please lets not engage in name calling or any behavior which is even remotely antagonistic.

I just talked to the gentleman who has posted multiple posts. He agrees to not post for a few weeks and then to refrain from posts that concern hostilities, etc. He also agrees not to respond to posts from others who have had any type of drama with him when he returns.
I am going to ask that other members refrain from any type of negative comments about the gentleman hwo has posted multiple posts as it upsets him and as it instigates more rebuttle from him.
I want this drama over with. It takes two to tango, or perhaps roughly five in the drama. I am going to enforce that he leaves you guys alone, but also that you leave him alone. Then the drama will truly be extinguished. |

In the past three years, I didn't have such an extreme case, so I maintained a more peaceful stance towards moderation so I wouldn't offend anyone. Now, it seems that taking a more disciplinarian is the only way to handle this situation.
I have three new policies which will be documented in our policies page for the forum regarding excessive posting, arguing, slandering, and language, although we have never had much trouble with bad language.
I am sorry I was not more on the ball. I have never had a case like this and didn't know the anything about the problem until five days ago and didn't know the whole story until last night. Once I found out how serious this was, I immediately took action. Please accept my apologies for not being aware sooner. |

Jeremy,
You are the proprietor of a business and you have the right to refuse service for any reason you deem necessary as long as it does not conflict with discrimination laws. If you owned a bar and a certain patron continually came in, drank to excess, showed extreme behavior and ran off your other patrons, you would be completely within your rights to refuse service to the offending patron. For you to say "I can not control what people post on the forum unless it is slanderous and the individual being slandered wishes for it to be removed." is nothing but a cop out and a very poor business decision, IMO.
Get with it, Jeremy, please.

I am going to moniter what I will term as excessive posting. I have taken a very close look one by one at Burt's posts and most are very intelligent and helpful. However, many could be seen as excessive since there can often be more than five in a given day. I am going to make it a policy to cap anything that seems excessive so that others are not bothered. |

I quoted the wrong name of the post "How would you handle this?" Pardon me it is getting late! |

Hey, don't mean to get you off the subject, but since you seem to know a little about the law please check out my last post under "what would you do?" and give me your opinion. It will not be construed as legal advice, so don't worry. Just an opinion
I really won't to do the right thing, but I also need to get paid.
Thanks. |

I can not control what people post on the forum unless it is slanderous and the individual being slandered wishes for it to be removed.
However, if you don't like reading posts by a particular author because they are redundant, or have opinions you don't like, please try to just ignore them and maybe they will cool down their posts after time passes.
Lets focus on the posts that we do like, because we have many talented and interesting notaries on board who have many useful and entertaining things to say. |

I second radonotary on this. I enjoy reading what others have to say on this forum, but it gets annoying when I see the same person in every single discussion board going on and on about his/her personal philosophies on life while contributing little relevant information to the subject at hand. It makes me not want to read the forum either.
It's not bitterness, hostility, or the result of a personality flaw: it's simply a matter of being annoyed by constant excerpts from a self-help booklet. |
