Crazylady and Carmen are correct in that you should not take a signing if you do not have a babysitter. If you are patient enough, you just may find someone who will do an on call basis with you. However, it is not a bad idea to have an adult "pit bull" in your car while you are doing signings. I have had this policy for twelve years and am fortunate enough to have a pit bull willing to wait while I am in signings. Gotta love those dogs.

I regret that crazylady916 is correct. This job (especially now) is very hard for folks who have young children that are not in school. When I first started documents were for the most part overnighted. It was easier to plan a head this way. But when they found we had the capability to print out doc's it changed everything. Now everything seems to come at the last minute.
Do you have a stay at home neighbor that you trust and that is willing that you could pay?

Unfortunately this may not be the kind of job you can do right now, if you are a single mom, or don't have anyone that can watch them. I know I have to look at the family calendar and quickly call hubby at work sometimes to see if I can take an assignment- because its not good to have to give a job back to them because you cannot complete it either. There are lots of things I would enjoy doing for a job, but I can't because I have six kids and 2 of them are too young for school. |

The obvious Kandy is that you should only make appts when you have someone to watch your children....maybe the dad for instance.

I have two little boys, and have had nothing but trouble finding a babysitter that can work last minute. Does anyone have any sugestions? I am willing to hear what everyone does, just for thought. Thanks!

Yeah, I know. I would NEVER leave them in the car, nor would I ever consider taking them with me, that is my problem. |

I can't offer any babysitting advice EXCEPT to say it is never professional to take anyone with you to a signing, whether they're your children or not. It would certainly not be wise or safe (or legal?) to leave children in a car, either. |
