I am working with someone regarding optimization. He says that you never know where quality traffic could come from. It could come from a blog, a forum, or anywhere, so putting your web address might be a good thing.

I agree Skip does a very professional job.

Rembember if you attended a notary class or a loan signing class with www.notaryclasses.com (CA) you are entitled to a free website and one year free hosting.

Upon a suggestion from a reliable source, I'm going with http://www.Notarywebsites.com. They have a lot of templates to choose from and I was told that I could change the font and colors, no problem. I've seen a couple sites that they've done and I like what I see - very professional-looking and the hosting is included plus something like five email addresses.

I purchased my domain name from http://godaddy.com cheap!

You must have a website in 2007 or you will be passed by to a Notary that does have one.

If you took a Notary or Loan Signing class (Calif) from www.notaryclasses.com you can get a free website!

Just scroll down the homepage and it will lead you through the entire process by just answering questions. Otherwise the cost is $149 to buld it.

I am a big fan of Laura's Public Notary work download for $9.95.
There is nothing about loan signing in this download; but she knows everthing about marketing a notary and getting Public Notary work.
Click on her website and you will not be disappointed.

I have logged over 250 hours studying how to get on the first page of the results of a Google or Yahoo search for a notary in my area. My research has paid off very nicely.

Just last month, Google made a major change to its search strategy (aka algorithm). Yahoo followed suit. Both now give more weight to forums and blogs.

BOTTOM LINE PRACTICAL TIP
List your website address on every message you post on every forum - even if it isn't relevant to the forum topic.

List your url at the end of every one of your posts on notary boards. Also list it on non-notary forums. I have started listing my url on my posts in the pug dog lover's forums I have participated in for years.

Don't worry about your url being irrelevant. People don't usually read urls below signatures. But Google and Yahoo read them. That is all that matters.

Good luck!
Laura

PS: If you don't have a website, get one. One page with all the info you list on your notary directory profile will be sufficient. The website need not be pretty - it just needs to contain relevant text. Search this forum for free/cheap website resources.

you saw that last line a mile away, didn't you?
