I do not mind working for signing companies that pay the same rate as a title company and on time. But, they are so few and far between. Discounting my fee to include a middleman just doesn't make sense. What does make sense is that the signing service is paid to find the best possible person for the job and is being paid a small finders fee to do so.

So true Carmen about them using our money to pay their bills. What about my bills? I still work for some, but they are good ones that pay quickly and are fair to me.

You do not have to wait 60 days to get paid. Just work only with companies who pay in 30 days or less. Plenty of them still pay within 30 days or less.

pyakey:
My question is why do we, the signing agent, have to wait sometimes 60 days to get paid when the signing companies are usually wired the money the day after the right to cancel. I have the expense of travel and if edocs are the case, paper and ink etc. No other business or your creditors will oblige you if we call them and say we do not pay bills but every 45 to 60 days you would get hit with a late fee. I run into a lot of this and am quite tired of footing the bill. I told a company the other day, when they called me for a signing and I had not been paid for signings in October that their fee would be $75.00 (usually 60.00. They paid it!

iugirlusa:
disagree with you. Most signing companies DO NOT get paid after the RTC. As a matter of fact, most of them only get paid monthly. I know because I work for one.

carson:
I've had my share of documents that were thrown together and you didn't see the closings instructions until you were 3/4 of the way through. Then, you see it was to be signed in BLUE ink! Talk about being angry!

I get edocs alot that are upside down and in no particular order. What a mess. So much can be said for professionalism.

notaryeagle response to iugirlusa:
But why is this so? Is this because the lending companies feel they can get away with it?
