I agree that there's nothing like hands-on! However, like golf, you must have the proper "tools" , basic lessons and know-how to get started. I've been teaching Joan's loan signing class (based on her book) since 2004 and am honored to lecture and represent her and NotaryClasses. I wouldn't teach anything that I didn't personally believe in!
I have also participated in other vendor's programs and classes so that I can self-improve and see where I'm "at" as an instructor. No one in my opinion even comes close to Joan's seminar. I'm sayin' it: The NNA signing agent course was absolutely the worst - a waste of my money and a complete waste of my day. I don't even think the instructor was a notary, let alone a loan signer. It was pitiful. Retail sales, sales, sales and very limited answered to good questions.
Over the years, I've taken home-study courses, on-line courses, webinars and teleseminars and have been successful at learning but I'm a self-disciplined person and can benefit from this type of learning - no everyone does! I've also been involved in live, all-day seminars for many years and enjoy the interaction with others.

Go work for someone if you want to learn a trade. Nothing teaches like hands-on experience.

This is a great seminar (I think you have the option of completing the course home-study too) worth every dime. Be sure to take Joan's class or Kelly's class (I took Kelly's and my mother-in-law took Joan's course). |

Resources
The notary public resource page is valuable as it has links to all of the free information pages for notaries. Pages linked to the resource page include a page that teaches you everything you need to know to get the most out of your listing. Another page teaches you all the secrets of getting paid.
