Still slowest it's been in MANY years. But, I did get a job from a new-to-me Title company this week thru this directory. 123Notary has always been my best source of new direct business. Keep up the good work, Jeremy!

January rocked. This month (Feb 2023) the bottom dropped. So, I have extra time to training review, test and coordinate equipment, especially mobile printer, scanner and hot spot.
However, I am blessed with the best clients and customers of clients. Often time, even knowing my value, and travel time and cost, I will bid what I think sounds high, then find "the Client" pays me more than what I ask.
I try extra hard to do things well, and hopefully in a way that someone will be both surprised and delighted.
I have noticed that sometimes when I "lose" a bid, the same one will come back to me -- somehow the NP/SA got sick or something else.
In particular, I enjoy my business that has come through my listing here. Its not a LOT, but it's enough to encourage me to keep on keeping on.
Thanks, Mary Walters Mobile Notary Linkup, LLC

I started doing loan signings in 1993, before it was a 'thing'. They were very sporadic for the next 7-8 years. Began to take off about 2000, but I did not view it as a career until I moved to Arkansas late 2001. From that point on, income increased every year...until 2022--which was the worst year EVER. And it most definitely looks like 2023 is going to be like 1993 except for one thing: In 1993, pay was always XXX and often that first X was NOT a 1.
2023 and for most likely the next couple years, there are way more notaries than signings, so hiring party will be most likely to pick the cheapest...and there are too many who have no idea they'll be working for free or at a loss until it's too late. By the time interest rates drop (questionable that they'll ever go below 2.5 seen in '21), the most likely scenario is that Lenders will have the big tech RON companies doing it all.

I heard that Notary business is slow, but I wanted to hear from the rest of you if you have opinions.

Tips for using the forum
The most important feature on the forum is the search box. You can look up a particular word, phrase, name of a company, and see a potentially large list of search results with which you can obtain data. Filters are also valuable. If you want to find popular posts, you can use the number of views filter. You can also see whats new with the active topics link. Email us at info@123notary.com if you need any help using the notary forum.
Resources
The notary public resource page is valuable as it has links to all of the free information pages for notaries. Pages linked to the resource page include a page that teaches you everything you need to know to get the most out of your listing. Another page teaches you all the secrets of getting paid. There is a link to our free list of signing companies. There is also a glossary, learning tools, and much more.
If you are a notary, the free tips we give are invaluable.
