I was in the park two days ago. A kid on a bike hits me from behind. He says sorry. I was already very angry and say a bad word. The mother did nothing to prevent the accident from happening, did not tell the kid to slow down or watch where he is going. But, the mother antagonized her.
So, I told the mother to shut up and beat it and used some more not nice words.
Then the father is as big as a World Federation wrestler and appears out of nowhere and says he will hurt me if I don't apologize right away. I ran. They follow me. I said I would contact the police. They didn't back down. Since 911 put me on hold the last time I reported an unconscious woman on the side walk, I decided that they would probably be of no help. I can't run that fast and I don't know how fast they can run. So, I conceded and apologized to the boy.
All four members of their family antagonized me or crashed into me, yet I am the one apologizing.
So,I talked to several people about what happened and got suggestions.
One said that apologizing was the best idea.
Another said to say something in Russian that sounds scary to scare them -- or just act crazy.
The police said to get pepper spray.
I thought Arabic might be more effective than Russian and that is a point of contention!
But, I talked to an ex-cop client of mine who is smart as a whistle. He said get pepper spray, a taser, AND study Kempo martial arts. He articulated his suggestion so fast and eloquently, I didn't know what hit me. So, perhaps it is time to learn the ways of the orient and get some practice chopping people.
