Actually, as far as I'm concerned nothing has changed.

I just attended my license renewal course last month (7/24/2021) and the instructor recommended the same "separate" journal lines for each document signed. There was no mention of multiple documents on one line, nor any updates, which I asked about.

Since it was not in the state sponsored training, I will need to hear directly from my boss, the California Secretary of State, of any changes.

It has been asked, argued, and debated for years, must California Notaries create a separate journal line entry for each signature notarized on every document, or may they include multiple documents in one journal line entry for the same signer? At last, we have a definitive answer.
