Notaries are upset that I have berated them many times in my blog recently. The reason is that when I test Notaries, only about 3% do well, but many are quick to argue and engage in self aggrandizement and self-promotion telling me how smart they are before or after they get 35% on my quiz.

So, I talked to title companies and signing companies to ask them if Notaries are rude to them. The answers were not consistent. One company said that many Notaries were rude to them but that was not a big issue. A second person who worked in Escrow for several years said she had not heard of Notaries being rude. A third person who had a signing service said that Notaries were rude when he criticized them for doing something wrong or not knowing something. He said that Notaries typically praised themselves and claimed to be so knowledgeable, but in real life that was not always the case.

So, my age old question:
If Notaries are rude to Jeremy, will they be rude to title too? The answer is that Notaries are rude to those who chastise or question them regardless of whether you are paying them or not.
