This is all so silly. Why do you "get paid later"?
I did this for 15 years in NYC and all "new" clients paid via PayPal "up front". Once or twice "up front". Then, when "trust" was EARNED I permitted (it's the Seller that defines the payment terms) "some" to pay afterward. And that was to be PROMPT.
Sure, some "went away" but I did not miss them.
Take control of YOUR business, you set the rules about payment, not the buyer of your services.

Ken, now retired, and rarely "screwed".

Great job Christine! I would also suggest going direct to the client you provided services to.

Christine, just curious. Did you look them up here or on notary rotary before you did the signing to see if they had any payment problems with others?

Has anyone tried reporting a title company to the state insurance department for non-payment? Wondering if it works.

The BBB is not for business to business complaints so that is not an option.

Collection agency or court? I've never tried the collection agency route.

If you want to find popular posts, you can use the number of views filter. You can also see whats new with the active topics link. Email us at info@123notary.com if you need any help using the notary forum.

Resources
The notary public resource page is valuable as it has links to all of the free information pages for notaries. Pages linked to the resource page include a page that teaches you everything you need to know to get the most out of your listing. Another page teaches you all the secrets of getting paid. There is a link to our free list of signing companies. There is also a glossary, learning tools, and much more. If you are a notary, the free tips we give are invaluable.
