I still have 2 open invoices from 2013 that have never been paid. At one point they were great, not so much. How do you not answer your phone or reply to emails when your a "business"? I do like what Linda said "My invoices are net 30 no matter what...they contract me for a service, I perform that service, I deserve to be paid" I 100% AGREE!!!!!!!

Only if you accepted the assignment with that provision. That's why I don't wait for funding of these loans for my payment. My invoices are net 30 no matter what...they contract me for a service, I perform that service, I deserve to be paid.

Still check the property records - make sure they're not pulling your leg about it not funding. Besides, reverse mortgages rarely get refused unless they don't appraise out or the people decide it's not for them. Most times they do go through.

You should know this company has a horrible reputation for this - check out Signing Central on Notary Rotary for notary feedback about them.

Again, good luck. You deserve to be paid.

Thank you Linda for this advise. I will work on this tomorrow. Is there a way to look up online property records to see if I can find the recorded security instrument. Even the person who hired the person that called me to do the assignment will not return my call.

I would guess that because GA is an attorney only state they contracted with an attorney to do the final closing and your invoice fell between the cracks. Here's what I sugggest:

Check the property records - see if you can find the recorded security instrument - if there's a reverse mortgage recorded that means this loan finally funded. Get a copy of it.

Send the hiring party a letter with a copy of the recorded mortgage together with a copy of your confirmation - let them know you were not paid for your services for the closed and funded loan. Send a copy to the title company involved.

If this gets no results, elevate it to sending a copy of this letter to the regulatory agency governing title insurance companies wherever that title company is located. Also, if the title company is owned by an attorney, send a copy to that attorney's Bar Association.

All this noise should get you some results somewhere along the way. But your first step is - make sure that loan closed by checking the property records. It's very possible it didn't close and the company doesn't pay for non-closings or non-funding.

Good luck.

On October 24, 2014 Dawn Fenney of The Notary Company requested an assignment from me to do a reverse mortgage application. As of today, January 5, 2015 I have not been paid. She will not answer any of my phone calls or emails. Has anyone has problems with this company, if so, were you able to resolve payment?
