I have a daily marketing plan. Everywhere I go I give people my business card, smile, and tell them to call me. I leave cards with people in restaurants, movies, book stores, boutiques, the FedEx/UPS office, my bank, my friends, my relatives, my church, feed stores where I get Blue John's oats, nursing homes - everywhere I go. Following an assignment I write a letter to the people thanking them for their time and enclosing my card in case they need a Mobile Notary in the future. Every evening I write a few personal letters (and enclose my card) to people who might need a great notary --lawyers, doctors, case workers, etc. My son thinks I should have a website, and perhaps that is an idea I'll pursue. Anyone have thoughts on the value of this? I stay as busy as I want to be and have a lot of fun doing it. I thoroughly prepare for each assignment. I give friends a discount! Penny

Most notaries are interested in doing a quick burst of marketing when they first start. What they don't realize is that Marketing is a continual effort. You do more hours per month when you are first starting, but the campaign should never end, even if the phone is ringing off the hook because you never know when things will slow down!
