No, $65 is not a reasonable fee...period. As to 'discussing'...in general, you can say the 'what' (this is the Note, point out the amt. financed, interest rate, payment, due date, term--all of which are in black & white--fact, not opinion.) The 'why' is a call to LO "why is my interest rate XX?". Most of the videos are one person's way of doing it. Seems like those I've seen and are posted where other notaries can see/comment...other notaries have one issue or another with the way it was done. Good for reference, but find 'your way'.

If you don't value your time and experience, nobody else will.

I just received my commission as a notary in North Carolina. I was wondering if I was able to discuss loan documents with borrowers as I have seen other notaries demonstrate on youtube? I was under the impression that I could not under any circumstance discuss or explain any document. Also, what is the average fee paid out to signing agents in NC for refi? Quicken Loans uses Title Source and I inquired about becoming a NSA with them. A recruiter with Title Source sent an attachment with a 17 page application listing their fees. $65 is the going rate for refi's. Is this reasonable? They also wanted 2 years minimum exp. of which I have none, just trying to start somewhere. Thanks for any information! Joanna
