Yes Linda H, makes me think that they are still getting a lot of reports of notary slobs out there and I know they exist and have seen several. Like the one with a British accent who wore flip flops , sweats and was real disorganized. Americans are suckers for that accent and automatically think that person is distinguished and ever so fancy.
I like Title Source very much, very friendly and efficient.

Solicitations and ads trying to entice people to become notaries and get rich quick as a signing agent making 125. an hour, have hurt us all by attracting freaks with no business experience or a modicum of social grace. That must be true by all the insulting instructions we get about how to dress, and where to park, and not bring all your dope friends and relatives with you to an appointment who will hang out leaning on your car smoking and drinking a beer in the borrowers driveway with screaming snot nosed kids. Don't walk across the lawn, don't burn rubber when you leave.
These types of tests and insulting instructions we get with signing orders speak largely to the general erosion of society and our tacit agreements, the fall of a civilization and lowering the bar on education, and celebrating and applauding stupidity because its so cute, which started in the 90's and is ever present in most tv shows today.

It is absolutely ludicrous and insulting. How to dress and act etc, it was so rudimentary and laughable.

I got frustrated with the testing, when they would send a new module daily to my email, after about 7 of these, I emailed them and told them if they wanted their notaries to be certified with them, to give us one test and be done with it, not a silly 2 minute quiz on a daily basis.

So far over the past several months have received requests to complete the following training modules [most recently received request listed first]:

HUD/VA
TIL
Mortgage/Deed of Trust
1003/Loan Application
Note

The training provides a review of the function of the document highlighted and identifies the common errors that they are noting in their documents. Presume that this effort is for quality control.

Have a great day!

It does seem to be a recurring thing with them and, yes, a window on what they're dealing with. Think they'd learn to just go with experience but, guess not.

If you don't value your time and experience, nobody else will.

Took 3 phases. Not much time to complete and a window on what they're dealing with out here in notary-land. I enjoy working for this company; they're well-organized & responsive when I need them to be! Yes, questions are relevant.

I do not care how simple and easy it is. If they do not like the CSA testing level, well, let them pound salt.
It is a slippery slope. I refused and still get work from them.

TS quiz, IMO, was ridiculously basic - to a point of "you're kidding, right?" - how and when to call and confirm, what kind of clothes to wear, do you ask for a drink, where to park, etc etc

All I can figure is they've had some complaints about notary conduct at their closings and are now addressing it across the board.

Very basic; not related to signing knowledge but rather, timeliness, dress, professional manners.
