You also with these BOA loans get 175-200 pages to wade thruogh to find the fax backs.Nations Direct offeres me $85.00 to do the package and drive 35 miles one way in rush hour traffic. When I realized it was a BOA loan and all the fax backs, I told them to find someone else to do it.

I find most agencies don't want to pay a fee for fax backs so I opted for $10 if it's slow otherwise I don't take the fax back jobs.

Great tip! Yes, the BOA loans are notorious for requiring 55 to 60 pages for fax back and these docs are NOT grouped together in the doc set.
I do have a fairly new fax, but have found that at the 20-page mark there is usually a disconnect or 'hanging' that will occur. So, for my most recent fax back requirement, I checked the time to scan all docs in and then send the scanned 58-page set. The time required was about the same or less than doing it manually via fax.
The standard that I use for fax back fees is as follows: First ten pages are included in the loan signing fee, after that $1/page - that is, unless they are a regular client, then $0.75/page. Some companies balk at this [FASS] and will only pay $15 TOTAL for fax backs. So, I just keep that in mind when I am accepting a signing from them AND if it is a BOA loan, my fee is adjusted accordingly. :D Your thoughts?

I don't know why, but it never occurred to me until I read this thread that fax backs are for checking my work!! I haven't done a BOA yet. Thanks for the forewarning about cost. |

It takes me about 30 or more minutes to pull original docs requested that amount to about 10 or more different types requested to scan into PDFs. Because I feel strongly fax machines are an old dinosaur to phase out of my technology purchases primarily because most of us no longer have land lines, I use the Internet's fax system through RC Central to send scanned documents. This takes longer to perform due to different page sizes. It's not just a matter of putting the docs in a fax machine to send anymore.
Due to this change in technology that's time consuming, I request $25 additionally to my fee. I find most of these fax back requests come from those companies with contracts with Bank of American that requires pre-approval prior to dropping the docs.
I'm unwilling to take away from my time to address other signings to have to fax back prior to sending by Fed Ex. It takes away from my business and therefore I nip these agencies in the bud by requesting a fee for my time.
I urge SA's to consider the time drainage to their business if they don't own a fax machine and to charge what their time's worth to accommodate these unnecessary requests simply to appease the fears of BofA and/or hand holding agencies unwilling to pay for our time.
Sincerely yours,
