One good way to carry the docs is in a bag with a shoulder strap. I like to have the bag on my left side with the strap over my right shoulder. It's secure. If I stop for a cup of coffee or to use the cell phone there is no need to "put them down" - and open the possibility of someone taking them or even me forgetting them (gulp!). Choose a bag that will accept a Legal Size FedEx "Sturdy Pak" shipping envelope. If that fits, anything else will also fit.

As a signing agent, we are responsible for maintaining control of loan documents at all times - from receipt of docs to dropping off at the courier. I recently was in a FedEx store to drop off my docs. Went to the desk where the supplies are and what do I see? An entire set of signed loan docs laying there with no one around. The page that was exposed was the 4506, signers name, address and ss# for anyone to see, pick up, etc.
I took my time doing my business and watched those docs. Saw a man approach the desk, but he too was looking for supplies. Finally a woman came up, dragging a young child with her and picked up the loan package.
People, it can happen fast. NEVER EVER leave loan documents out unattended in a public place, even for a second. Try to leave youngsters home. At a minimum, always, always keep a supply of shipping envelopes, labels, etc. at your office or in your bag.
