My caller ID is blocked from my home phone. My cell is my business phone and if I get a blocked call, I answer it the same way as if it had a number showing up, I either accept the assignment or I don't politely.

If someone is in business or calling from a business and they want a call back, why do they persist in calling from a blocked #? Nothing like speeding to an apt and then you cant call them back without going thru listening to message, writing down the # then dialing. Are they for real? Guess what, they don't get a call back because I wont go through all that while driving. My car has built in blue tooth, can answer etc all hands free. But cant call them back without a lot of hassle. |

Its usually --no-- its ALWAYS --Nations Direct when it says "unknown" on my phone. They will try to trick you into answering. They never leave a message. Its so rude.

Sue - thank you, you just made my day! =)
I have to say, I've been told that same thing many times about that photo. It's such a cheesy photo, too! I did once pay $$$ for a "professional portrait" and for a short time, I used it - and those that know me HATED that one, and those that don't know me never commented at all.
So, back to 'cheesy'. Perhaps the difference is because in this one, I was actually smiling at my son - in the professional shot, I was posing. |

Thanks for the heads up Renee.

A lot of my clients come up on caller ID that way. When I worked for a lender, our phones showed that way for two reasons: one, the way the phone system was set-up, all in-coming was routed through reception and that would be thwarted if our direct-dial numbers showed on caller-ID and two, it was a way of protecting the privacy of borrowers, and yes, they took privacy THAT seriously. We were wholesale, so technically we didn't have a client relationship with a borrower until AT closing. If we called them (rare, but we did sometimes), we didn't want our name on their caller ID for someone other than them to see.
The first reason, though, is likely wide-spread in any company using such phone systems. Particularly larger companies, who don't WANT all the call-backs from people that missed the call.

I get calls occasionally that my iPhone doesn't disclose the caller's phone number under the heading "block" or "unknown". I don't feel comfortable answering these callers so I tend not to pick these calls up if I'm able to check beforehand whose calling (sometimes it's really inconvenient to check).
Does anyone have the same concerns that they don't pick up such calls?
Sincerely yours,
