When I first started in the Mobile Notary business this happened to me. A different company. I went through the package 3 times because I was so afraid of making a mistake, I went so far as to make a copy of everything that was returned via FEDEX. The SC called and told me I did not return the note. I swore up and down that I did and said, I'll send you a copy of what was returned. They questioned why I would have a copy. I said for this exact reason, I'll shred it after I'm paid. Well, low and behold I get a call about an hour or so later and the document was found. Miracles do happen. My guess is they misplaced the document and it was easier to try and send me out, at my expense. Needless to say, I don't do anymore work for that company. So my guess is, the same thing has happened in your situation.

On 11/15/2012 I did a signing for Liberty Title out of Utah and Freedom Home Mortgage LLC out of NJ. A week after signing I get a call from the borrower that they did not have the check for the funds due. I could hardly believe it because I have a routine I go through to make sure I don't mislay a check. And I always binder clip it to the documents. So now I always take a picture of the check clipped to the documents. I paid the wire fee for the borrow to wire the funds to Title. There are only two places that check could be in my bag or on my desk where I do the final go through. I felt then it was lost by the company. Then today I get an e-mail from the signing company that the lender says the note wasn't signed! This is almost 8 weeks after the original signing! How does a loan fund when a note isn't signed? I think they lost it like they did the check and just don't want to pay me to go back out. Would just be interested to hear if any one else has had this type of experience. I googled Freedom Home Mortgage LLC and they sound like a bunch of losers. One big complaint was they LOST paperwork.
